Position Overview:

The PeopleSoft Developer is responsible for using approved programming languages, operating systems and source code to create, enhance, and maintain application solutions that meet the identified functional and non-functional business requirements.

Duties:
  • PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HR/Payroll, PeopleTools, PeopleSoft Workflow, PeopleSoft Security and PeopleSoft Internet Architecture
  • Human Resource Management System (HRMS) processes including Recruiting, HR employment history, position management, leave accrual, benefit, time tracking and the payroll process to include pay, tax, and W-2 processing and reporting
  • Financials application including eProcurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, Budget and General Ledger
  • Relational Databases DB2 and SQL Server
  • PeopleSoft systems – maintenance, upgrades and customizations
  • Visual Basic, Crystal Reports, nVision, and XML publisher
  • SDLC , including techniques utilized in creating system requirements, performing analysis, producing designs, performing development, and assisting with testing and implementation

  • Code/build application solutions from specifications provided by Requirements Analysts and Application Integration Architect.
  • Develop and execute unit tests and functional test coverage for assigned coding changes to ensure code quality.
  • Perform testing of application software modifications utilizing various programming platforms and productivity tools and review results for accuracy.
  • Perform coding and testing in multiple systems and/or processes.
  • Follow processes and procedures to ensure the quality of technical solutions.
  • Lead and/or provide assistance with presentations in code reviews.
  • Participate in broader technical reviews used to detect defects in requirements, design, code, test cases, or other project artifacts.
  • Perform documentation of all code changes.
  • Support Senior Developers in compiling detailed activity task management including recording work effort and providing estimates of time to complete tasks.
  • Support Senior Developers in the design and development of proof of concept and prototype application environments.
  • Develop and maintain code repositories according to established version management approaches and methods as defined.
  • Follow code construction fundamentals for coding practices, guideline for use of data, control-related concepts, and error-detection practices
  • Assist in identification and evaluation of risks; participate in mitigation and control activities.
  • Provide on-call support in support of systems and applications in production.
  • Perform production support activities including incident and problem management, code corrections, upgrades and patches.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience developing, maintaining, and supporting PeopleSoft applications.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft HR/Payroll, PeopleTools, Workflow, Security, and Internet Architecture.
  • Experience supporting PeopleSoft Financials modules, including eProcurement, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Asset Management, Budgeting, and General Ledger.
  • Experience supporting HRMS processes, including Recruiting, HR employment history, position management, leave accrual, benefits administration, time tracking, payroll, tax processing, and W-2 reporting.
  • Experience performing PeopleSoft system maintenance, upgrades, patches, enhancements, and customizations.
  • Experience developing applications using C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, and MVC Frameworks.
  • Experience developing web applications using REST and SOAP web services, XML/XSLT, and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 and Microsoft SQL Server relational databases.
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and source code management tools such as Subversion.
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC), object-oriented programming principles, and UML.
  • Experience developing, debugging, testing, documenting, and implementing application enhancements.
  • Experience creating and executing unit tests and supporting functional testing activities.
  • Experience participating in code reviews and technical reviews.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support production systems, including incident management, code fixes, upgrades, patches, and on-call support.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with PeopleSoft reporting tools, including Crystal Reports, nVision, XML Publisher, and Visual Basic.
  • Experience supporting purchased commercial software systems, including upgrades and customizations.
  • Knowledge of client/server and web-based application architectures.
  • Experience following established coding standards, version management, and software development best practices.
  • Experience developing proof-of-concept or prototype solutions.
  • Experience estimating development effort and supporting project task planning.
  • Experience maintaining code repositories and version control processes.
  • Experience identifying project risks and participating in mitigation activities.
