Alliance Health at Baldwinville is a 93 bed LTC/Skilled Nursing Facility. We are seeking a dependable and experienced Per Diem Cook to join our Dietary Services team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with physician-ordered therapeutic diets, resident preferences, and federal/state long-term care regulations.
The ideal candidate understands the importance of food quality, safety, and resident satisfaction in a healthcare environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes
Follow physician-ordered therapeutic diets (mechanical soft, puree, diabetic, low sodium, etc.)
Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and facility food safety regulations
Maintain proper food temperatures and complete required logs/documentation
Adhere to infection control and sanitation standards
Assist with meal service and tray accuracy for residents
Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment
Communicate effectively with dietary manager and nursing staff
Qualifications:
Prior cooking experience required; long-term care or healthcare experience preferred
Knowledge of therapeutic diets strongly preferred
ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to work independently and efficiently
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
