Overview:
Performs a wide range of tasks associated with supporting the pharmacological aspects of both pre-clinical and clinical research while managing multiple research activities, bioanalytical procedures and analyses.
Responsibilities:
- Performs research laboratory tasks, assays and experiments within the shared resource laboratory environment.
- Undertakes bioanalytical assays and assists with molecular studies using cell cultures and molecular biology techniques.
- Supports research projects and laboratory studies involving specimens/sample including collection and processing, biorepository maintenance and analyzing and documenting the test/laboratory outcomes for a principal investigator.
- Prepares and submits experimental data reports with supportive documentation, routine tests and laboratory record keeping.
- Understands and follows routine and established laboratory and safety standard operating procedures.
- Conducts experiments and supportive laboratory work including records management with timely processing of samples for studies.
- Maintains laboratory and study supplies and stock items for the laboratory.
- Performs limited library research and reference work for background materials.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of laboratory based research experience, or the equivalent in education and experience, preferred.
- Excellent organizational, writing, and standard laboratory software skills required.
- Previous experience working with cell cultures and molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of laboratory and safety standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of using/reading/keeping graphs, logs, charts and statistics.
- Ability to effectively work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
