What You’ll Do in This Role:
Join a 5-Star retirement community on a beautiful 58-acre campus with a rich history of excellence in senior care and a truly supportive team culture. The Physical Therapist Assistant will assist the Physical Therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Assist physical therapists in delivering physical therapy treatments and procedures.
Administer traction treatments to alleviate neck and back pain.
Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in learning and improving functional activities.
Fit, adjust, and train patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.
Observe patients during treatments, compiling and evaluating data on their responses and progress, then report findings to the physical therapist.
Measure patients’ range of joint motion, body part length and girth, and vital signs to assess the effects of specific treatments and assist physical therapists in patient evaluations.
Collaborate with physical therapy staff and other healthcare team members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information, ensuring coordinated treatment planning and adjustments.
Provide orientation and training to new physical therapy assistants and supervise physical therapy aides.
Monitor treatments administered by physical therapy aides, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
Perform clerical duties, including taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering phones, taking messages, and completing forms.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
At least 2 years' experience (preferred).
Current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) state license.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighting up to 35 pounds without assistance.
