Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Location: Woodsville, New Hampshire Job Type: Per Diem / PRN
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) team on a per diem basis. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a variety of acute medical conditions and post-operative needs while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.
Administer medications, IV therapy, blood products, and treatments as prescribed.
Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately in the EMR.
Care for pre-operative, post-operative, and medically complex patients.
Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and medical emergencies.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, HIPAA, and hospital safety standards.
Participate in shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New Hampshire.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred.
Minimum 1–2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience preferred.
Previous hospital acute care experience strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
