ICU Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Pool

San Diego County, CA
$63.27/Hour + Overtime After 8 Hours

Day & Night Shifts Available

We are seeking experienced ICU Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a float pool supporting multiple healthcare facilities throughout the San Marcos to San Diego area. This opportunity is ideal for flexible, highly skilled clinicians who are comfortable working in various settings and delivering exceptional patient care.

Position Details

  • Float between three facilities located throughout the San Marcos and San Diego region
  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Per Diem Position
  • $63.27 per hour
  • Overtime paid after 8 hours worked

Important Scheduling Requirements

✅ Must be available for a minimum of one shift per week
✅ Must be available for at least one weekend shift per month
✅ Must be local to the San Diego area
✅ Must be able and willing to work at all three assigned facilities
✅ Must feel comfortable and be willing to work primarily in a Direct Observation Unit (DOU) setting

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active California RN License
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Current ACLS Certification
  • Minimum of one year of ICU experience within the last three years
  • Strong critical care assessment and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different facility environments and workflows

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to critically ill and high-acuity patients
  • Perform patient assessments and ongoing monitoring
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation
  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care while floating between multiple facilities
