Job Overview

This position is centered on conducting health evaluations, executing diagnostic assessments, prescribing treatments, and formulating care plans, alongside offering health and wellness education to patients. The role encompasses various responsibilities typically associated with a physician, including diagnosing and treating medical conditions while ensuring the ongoing health maintenance of patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments, which include reviewing medical histories, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic results to establish accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for hospitalized individuals.
• Create and implement personalized treatment strategies for patients, taking into account their medical conditions, co-existing health issues, and overall wellness, while collaborating with specialists and healthcare teams.
• Provide continuous care for inpatients by conducting regular rounds, monitoring patient progress, evaluating treatment responses, and addressing any complications or changes in their health status.
• Prescribe and administer medications, therapies, and medical interventions in accordance with established protocols, ensuring precise dosages and timely delivery.
• Carry out various medical procedures and interventions within the scope of expertise.
• Order and analyze diagnostic tests, including lab work, imaging studies, and other relevant evaluations, to support accurate diagnosis and treatment monitoring.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including nurses, specialists, pharmacists, and support personnel, to ensure coordinated patient care, discuss treatment strategies, and address clinical concerns.
• Effectively communicate with patients and their families, providing clear explanations of diagnoses, treatment options, and prognoses while addressing any inquiries or concerns.
• Educate patients and their families on self-care practices, medication management, lifestyle changes, and post-discharge instructions to encourage their understanding and active involvement in their healthcare.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in hospital committees, case discussions, and multidisciplinary rounds to review complex cases, evaluate treatment outcomes, and contribute to the enhancement of patient care quality.
• Participate in conferences, seminars, and continuing education programs to remain informed about the latest medical research, guidelines, and advancements in the field.
• Adhere to hospital policies and protocols, including infection control measures, patient safety initiatives, and regulatory requirements, to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to medical residents, interns, and students, offering guidance and support in their clinical education and professional growth.
• Uphold professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality in all patient interactions, fostering trust, empathy, and respect with patients, families, and colleagues.

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
• Completion of a Residency Program.
• Completion of a Fellowship, if applicable to the medical specialty.
• Valid medical practice license.
• Board certification in the relevant medical specialty.
• Hospital-approved credentials (medical license, clinical privileges).
• Unrestricted DEA registration.
• Necessary certifications for the area of practice (BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, etc.).

Physical Requirements

• Extended periods of standing or walking.
• Ability to lift, position, push, or transfer patients and equipment.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Regular exposure to hazardous materials, sick patients, bodily fluids, noise, and potential exposure to radiation and electrical hazards.
• Consistent risk of bloodborne diseases and other transmissible infections.
• Interaction with patients in various circumstances, including emergency transport.
• Ability to manage unpredictable situations and emergency crises.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $425,000.00 and $485,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and will take into account various factors, including relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
