Per Diem Registered Nurse

Title: Per Diem Registered Nurse Rate of Pay: $50.00 per hour FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Employer: JIB Medical P.C. Department: Medical-Nurse Reports to: Nurse Manager Location: Flushing, NY Vacancy: 1 The Registered Nurse performs a wide variety of job duties during assigned shifts, caring for and educating members and families about medical conditions and medical orders, medications, follow-up, and specialty care while establishing trust and building rapport. JIB Medical is seeking an experienced Per Diem Registered Nurse with strong clinical experience in the healthcare industry. Reporting to the Nurse Manger, RN will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Uses the nursing process, provides nursing care for members and families including specialty nursing, such as gynecology (and other areas as needed). Excellent nursing care and communication skills on all clinical issues with a diverse population and multidisciplinary heath care professional team. Coordinates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive patient flow and waiting room experience.Function as a respectful member of JIB Medical team; Complete assigned mandatory training and education.Maintain cooperative and professional relationships with physicians, nurses, and office/clinical staff, in person and on the phone.Assists medical assistants (MA) in the care of patients.Administers immunizations and vaccinations as ordered by the physician and documents in the EMR.Triages incoming patient calls and directs care as needed. Reviews clinical laboratory reports and other specialty clinical reports for action as needed. With the physician, assesses and implements emergency medical care and transport to ER as needed.Maintains HIPAA confidentiality, able to exercise discretion on sensitive and confidential matters.Participates in special projects as needed (Annual Flu Immunization Program). Uses the electronic medical record (EMR).Observe, report and record patients condition, reaction to drugs and treatment, compile and record all patient laboratory information in our electronic health record.Assist in maintenance of equipment and medications/supplies. Other duties and/or special projects as assigned. Work Environment This job operates in a Medical Outpatient Primary Care Patient environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers, phone, headset, scanner, printer, keyboard, photocopiers, shredder, and fax. Physical Demands Sedentary work environment with physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift files, pull files/forms/books, stand, bending, shred documents, open/close filing cabinets as necessary. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a Per Diem role. Must be flexible and available to cover the Nurse Manager as needed. Flexibility: Must be flexible and available to perform overtime when necessary.
