Per Diem: Weekend Event Facilities Attendant

Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical School District is seeking a trustworthy, dependable individual to support weekend events held by organizations renting the facility. The attendant will independently open and prepare the building, remain available during the event, complete required cleanup, and securely close the building by checking doors, turning off lights, locking up, and setting the security alarm. This position is well suited for someone with experience in custodial work, security, building maintenance, or facility operations. Major Responsibilities:

• Arrive on time and open designated building entrances and event areas before scheduled rentals.
• Review event requirements and confirm that approved rooms, restrooms, and common areas are ready for use.
• Serve as the on-site District representative and primary facility contact during assigned events.
• Monitor the building and event areas for safety, security, unauthorized access, and facility concerns.
• Assist with reasonable event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, and related equipment, as directed.
• Perform custodial cleanup after events, including trash and recycling removal, restroom checks, sweeping, spot-mopping, and restoring used areas to their proper condition.
• Complete closing procedures, including checking occupied areas, securing doors, turning off lights, locking the building, and setting the security alarm.
• Report damage, safety issues, security concerns, unusual incidents, or maintenance needs to the appropriate District administrator.
• Respond appropriately to alarms, emergencies, and unexpected conditions and contact District personnel or emergency services when required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in custodial work, security, building maintenance, facility operations, or a related field preferred.
• Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, integrity, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with renters, event participants, District staff, and the public.
• Ability to follow written opening, closing, cleaning, safety, emergency, and alarm procedures.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning practices and the safe use of custodial supplies and equipment.
• Ability to identify and promptly report maintenance, safety, and security concerns.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be available for variable weekend assignments, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional holidays, based on the facility rental schedule.
• Valid driver''s license and reliable transportation required.
• Successful completion of all District-required background checks.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs; bend and reach; and safely lift, carry, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to make responsible decisions during emergency, safety, or security situations.
• This position includes interacting with the public, walking throughout the school, standing for periods, lifting and carrying items, reading documents, using a computer or mobile device, listening and speaking, using custodial equipment, maintaining energy throughout the assignment, and handling stress effectively.

Terms of Employment:

• Part-Time. Hours will vary based on District needs.

Compensation:

• $30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
