Job Summary
Our client, a global leader in advanced autonomous and robotic solutions across multiple industries, is seeking a Software QA Analyst to work with their Perception Engineering team. The Perception QA Engineer I will support the quality and validation of perception software and autonomous system capabilities through structured testing, defect identification, and clear documentation. Working in an Agile/Scrum environment, this role executes test plans, validates software functionality and performance, and helps ensure reliable operation across lab, vehicle, and field environments. Exposure to perception engineering concepts and sensor-based autonomous systems is desired to support testing of technologies used for environmental awareness and autonomous decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute manual test cases against defined requirements and acceptance criteria to validate software functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Assist with the development and execution of test plans and test strategies based on project requirements and specifications.
• Document test results, defects, and observations using test and defect management tools.
• Reproduce, troubleshoot, and communicate software defects and testing findings to engineering teams.
• Conduct testing across lab, vehicle, and field environments, including user-acceptance testing as software approaches release readiness.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum activities and provide accurate testing and quality status updates.
• Identify recurring defects and testing trends to support continuous quality improvement.
• Follow established test procedures and support software installation, diagnostics, and basic Linux-based testing activities.

• 0–2 years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, or a related technical field.
• Coursework or education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline.
• Foundational understanding of software testing methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with test case and defect management tools such as Jira or TestRail.
• Ability to follow established test procedures and document test results accurately.
• Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to reproduce and communicate software defects.
• Willingness to learn Linux operating system fundamentals and software installation and diagnostic processes.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Exposure to Perception Engineering concepts or sensor-based perception systems used in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other autonomous systems.
• Familiarity with testing software that processes data from cameras, LiDAR, radar, GPS/GNSS, or other sensors.
• Exposure to testing in vehicle, robotics, simulation, or field-based environments.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development practices.
• Basic experience with Linux, command-line tools, or software diagnostics.
