Job Summary
The Music Percussion Instructor will support teachers and students in Music. Scope of Duties: Collaborate with classroom teachers to design and implement lessons. Assisting with instruction, assessment, and logistics (concerts, performances, showcases, etc.) as determined by the band director. Job Responsibilities: Facilitate student involvement in music activities Rehearse small groups of students as needed Provide extra support for students Support and assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans Monitor, document, and report on activities as needed Maintaining musical instruments Desired Skills and Experience: Proficient Percussionist Professional or Industry Experience in Music (performance, teaching, etc.) Background and/or familiarity with ensemble music Basic knowledge of instrumental function/design/tuning/pedagogy Experience working with grade 6-12 students Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations, including youth and adults Strong oral and written communication skills, including public speaking skills Ability to work independently and be flexible
