What you will be doing:
  • Operate pre-production, production test vehicles, and company vehicles on test track or on approved highways and interstates.
  • Maintain attention to the road and surroundings while driving test vehicles.
  • Operate test vehicles in a professional, non-aggressive manner while adhering to local laws of the jurisdiction.
  • Maintain safety and security procedures.
  • Operate test vehicles in inclement weather.
  • Execute use cases to collect data on public roads or test track.
  • Execute vehicle inspections and any other required records for the test vehicle during assigned shift.
  • Maintain 5S in test vehicle.
  • Create test vehicle incident reports.
  • Maintain vehicle fuel needs.
  • Coordinate with fleet management to maintain operating condition of test vehicles.
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of licensed driving experience with no major traffic citations, accidents, or suspensions in the past three years.
  • No alcohol-related violations on driving record.
  • Completion of drivers training program to appropriate level.
  • Ability to read maps and use GPS devices.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must have a clean MVR report.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics.
  • Able to adapt to a flexible schedule to support some weekends and evening testing.
  • Must be reliable and maintain good attendance.
  • Must be able to drive test vehicles for prolonged periods of time.
  • Accurately communicate detailed findings verbally.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a global environment.
  • Travel (domestic and international) may be required.
  • Ability to complete electronic incident forms via computer or tablet.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office package.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of English (speak and write).
Preferred:
  • Tier 2 Driver Certificate.
  • Trailer tow experience; chauffeur or CDL license a plus.
  • Background in some type of motorsports.
