Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours every two weeks (Exempt)
Starting Wage DOE: $69.97 - 87.47
Operates heart-lung machine in hospital to take over functions of patient's heart and lungs during surgery or respiratory failure.
Essential Job Functions
* Reviews patient medical history and chart, consults with surgeon or physician to obtain patient information needed to operate
* heart-lung machine and associated equipment.
* Selects, assembles, and tests heart-lung machine & supplies to ensure that machine and associated equipment function according to specifications.
* Monitors and observes operation of heart-lung machine and patient's physiologic variables such blood temperature, blood composition, and flow rate, and adjusts equipment to maintain normal body functions.
* Assures proper function and maintenance of equipment in conjunction with external technical staff.
* Works with OR and Materials Management team to find the most cost effective methods of providing the service to include equipment purchases and vendor contracts for support.
* Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
* Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
* Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
* GED, High school diploma, or its equivalent
Certifications and Licenses
* Board Certified by the American Board of Perfusion At hire
