Description:
- Maintains a safe and orderly par level.
- Checks equipment with preventive maintenance, servicing as required for safe working
conditions.
- Insures equipment and supplies are available for emergency situations.
- Under direct supervision of the surgeon and anesthesiologist, the bypass circuit is
constructed in accordance to the OR standards of sterile technique. The patient is then
placed on bypass.
- Clinical perfusion is met according to calculated flows determined by the patient's
weight, height, age and cardiac index.
- Interprets various parameters, blood gas values, electrolyte balance, blood pressure,
urinary output, gas and blood flow and fluid shifts. Information passed on to the surgeon
and/or anesthesiologist.
- Maintains accurate records that are timely and complete.
- Maintains the bypass circuit to re-initiate safe bypass until authorized by the surgeon.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of perfusion
- High School Diploma
Licensure
- Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) Required
