RN: Pre-Operative & Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Traveler Facility: Pagosa Springs Medical Center Department: Surgical Services Location: Pagosa Springs, Colorado Shift: Weekday Day Shift Schedule: Up to 40 hours per week, based on department operations Call Requirement: On-call participation may be required; 30-minute response time Assignment Type: Traveler Important Scheduling Information The Surgical Services Department is closed on all recognized holidays. PSMC cannot guarantee 40 hours during any week in which a holiday falls on a weekday. Candidates must understand and accept this scheduling requirement before submission. Position Summary Pagosa Springs Medical Center is seeking an experienced Pre-Operative/PACU RN to coordinate and provide care for surgical patients throughout the pre-operative and post-operative phases. The traveler may work in several areas of the perioperative continuum, including: Pre-Operative Nursing Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Conscious Sedation Pre-Admission Testing Post-operative recovery following general, regional, monitored anesthesia care, and local anesthesia The RN will assess and monitor patients, administer medications and IV therapies, manage airways and pain, identify changes in patient condition, provide patient and family education, and coordinate care closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, circulating nurses, and other members of the surgical team. Required Qualifications No Exceptions Candidates must meet all of the following requirements: Graduate of an accredited RN program Current Colorado RN license in good standing Current AHA BLS certification ACLS and PALS certification as required by the department Previous travel nursing experience Previous Cerner EHR experience Relevant Pre-Op, PACU, perioperative, Emergency Department, or Intensive Care Unit experience Experience caring for patients undergoing orthopedic, general surgery, gynecology, ophthalmology, ENT, and interventional pain-management procedures Ability to independently manage post-anesthesia patients, recognize changes in condition, and respond appropriately Ability to perform cardiac monitoring and identify dysrhythmias Strong IV, medication-administration, airway-management, pain-management, and patient-assessment skills Submission Requirements No new graduates will be considered. Candidates without prior traveler experience or Cerner EHR experience will not be considered. There are no exceptions to these requirements. Please confirm the candidate understands that hours may be reduced during weeks containing a weekday holiday before submitting the candidate for consideration.

Shift: Weekdays. Either five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days.
