What You’ll Do

• Conduct daily rounds on newborns in the Level I nursery
• Attend deliveries and stabilize newborns when requested
• Take call from home as part of a dedicated neonatal care team
• Facilitate the transport of high-risk newborns to Level III NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia
• Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure optimal neonatal outcomes
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit protocols
• Contribute to a safe, compassionate environment for neonates and families

What You Need
Required:

• Board Certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) certification only (FNP, PNP, or other NP certifications not accepted)
• Minimum 2+ years NNP experience (excluding RN years)
• Valid NC license or the ability to obtain one
• Strong neonatal assessment and stabilization skills

Preferred:

• Experience with neonatal transport and stabilization
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

About the Assignment
This opportunity is with a leading healthcare provider operating a new Level I Nursery at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont, scheduled to open late 2024. The unit will feature approximately 600 annual deliveries, with a small daily census, providing a collegial environment for experienced neonatal nurse practitioners to lead and develop neonatal care practices. The position offers a rewarding blend of patient care, leadership, and teamwork in a community-focused hospital setting, just a short drive from Charlotte.
