What You’ll Do

• Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgical patients with a focus on compassionate, patient-first care
• Assist in cardiac surgeries, including performing endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting when needed
• Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluating CVICU, floor, and clinic patients
• Participate in two full-day clinics weekly and see additional patients on other days as needed
• Rotate through operating room coverage Monday through Friday
• Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and healthcare teams in a multidisciplinary setting
• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Develop and implement plans of care and follow-up based on patient outcomes
• Prescribe medications and perform bedside procedures as appropriate
• Document all care accurately and timely in compliance with policies
• Demonstrate expert clinical judgment and function independently under physician supervision
• Maintain ongoing education to meet licensing and registry requirements
• Adapt to a high-stress, evolving clinical environment, exhibiting teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving skills

What You Need
Required:

• Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Colorado
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years ICU or cardiothoracic surgery experience

Preferred:

• Experience in surgical assisting or vein harvesting
• Strong clinical judgment and collaborative skills
