Compensation: $27.00–$32.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday with a weekend rotation
Hours: 40 hours/week

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team in Waldorf, Maryland. This permanent, full-time opportunity offers a consistent weekday schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to work with both long-term care and short-term rehabilitation patients.

As part of a 115-bed skilled nursing facility, you'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team to help patients regain functional independence, achieve their therapy goals, and improve their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's functional needs and goals

  • Assist patients with improving independence in activities of daily living and functional mobility

  • Provide therapeutic activities focused on strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional performance

  • Monitor patient progress and communicate observations with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary care team

  • Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and timely

  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and safety

  • Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation staff, physicians, and other members of the care team

  • Participate in care planning and contribute to patient-centered treatment goals

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and encouraging treatment environment

  • Follow facility policies, clinical standards, and applicable regulations

Qualifications

  • Current Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA/COTA) license or eligibility for licensure in Maryland

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • New graduates are welcome to apply

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively with both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care populations

  • Willingness to participate in a weekend rotation
