Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Night Shift) – Perm Placement

Location: Mattoon, IL

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) to join our team on the night shift. This permanent position offers an opportunity to provide exceptional maternal and neonatal care within a supportive healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive care to obstetric patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans.
  • Provide clinical leadership to the healthcare team during assigned shifts, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, midwives, and specialists to coordinate care and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly, maintaining compliance with safety and infection control standards.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, recognizing normal and abnormal findings, and promptly communicating relevant data to physicians and team members.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care strategies tailored to each patient’s unique needs to achieve measurable health outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations to team members, supporting professional growth and team development.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, peers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Actively pursue ongoing education through unit-based in-service programs, literature review, and participation in professional development activities.
  • Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating professionalism, strong clinical judgment, and effective communication.
  • Educate patients and their families, employing appropriate teaching strategies to promote health and safety.
  • Manage bed assignments and coordinate patient care delivery during the shift to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications.
  • Proven experience in Labor and Delivery nursing preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical learning.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly pay rate: $37.23 – $57.71, based on experience.
  • Shift differential: $4.00 on weekdays, an additional $2.00 on weekends (stackable).
