We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) to join a 119-bed skilled nursing facility in Stockton, California. This is an excellent opportunity for a rehabilitation professional who is ready to take the lead, support a strong clinical team, and help shape a high-quality therapy program.
In this role, you will combine clinical expertise with leadership, team development, and program oversight. You will play an important part in creating an environment where therapists can do their best work and residents receive thoughtful, effective rehabilitation services.
This position is not open to new graduates and requires an experienced rehabilitation leader.
Competitive compensation: $45–$60 per hour
Predictable schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week
No weekend rotation

Coordinate day-to-day therapy operations and ensure efficient service delivery
Supervise, mentor, and support rehabilitation team members
Collaborate with nursing, administration, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members
Monitor clinical outcomes, productivity, documentation, and quality measures
Ensure therapy services are delivered in accordance with facility standards and applicable regulations
Participate in care planning and contribute to individualized treatment strategies
Assist with staff development, performance management, and ongoing education
Help maintain appropriate staffing levels and departmental coverage
Identify opportunities to improve clinical programs, workflows, and resident outcomes
Support compliance with federal, state, and facility requirements
Build a positive department culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and excellent patient care
Current and active California license in a qualifying rehabilitation discipline
Prior rehabilitation leadership or Director of Rehabilitation experience required
Experience working in a skilled nursing or post-acute rehabilitation setting strongly preferred
Strong understanding of therapy operations, clinical documentation, and regulatory requirements
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to mentor and motivate a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team
Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable working collaboratively with facility leadership and interdisciplinary teams
Please note: This position is not open to new graduates and the facility cannot accept COTA or PTA candidates for the DOR role.
