ATCS is seeking a highly organized and proactive Permit & Administrative Support Specialist to support our Land Development Engineering team in Largo, MD. This role plays a key part in keeping projects and office operations running smoothly by managing permitting support tasks, coordinating internal communications, and providing general administrative assistance to project managers and engineering staff.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting environment where priorities can shift quickly.

Permitting & Project Support

  • Assist with permit expediting activities, including tracking submissions and coordinating follow-ups with agencies
  • Support preparation and coordination of comment response letters for land development projects
  • Conduct first-pass reviews of contract addendums for completeness and formatting before internal routing
  • Coordinate sign postings and related field documentation requirements for projects
  • Track permitting status and maintain organized records of submissions, approvals, and correspondence

Office & Administrative Support

  • Manage shared office email accounts, calendars, and meeting scheduling
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, including agenda support and logistics
  • Maintain office calendars and ensure key deadlines and events are communicated to staff
  • Provide general administrative support to engineering and project management teams

Marketing & Networking Coordination

  • Track, maintain, and manage registrations for industry networking and professional events
  • Notify team members of relevant conferences, networking opportunities, and deadlines
  • Support coordination of staff attendance and event logistics when needed

Office Management Support

  • Purchase, track, and maintain office supplies and general office items
  • Support day-to-day office operations and administrative needs
  • Assist with miscellaneous administrative tasks as needed to support the team

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of administrative, coordination, permitting, or office support experience (AEC or engineering environment strongly preferred)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • Experience with document management or project tracking systems is a plus

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to land development, civil engineering, or permitting processes
  • Experience interacting with municipal or regulatory agencies
  • Familiarity with contract documentation or construction/engineering project workflows
  • Prior experience supporting engineering or consulting teams

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $59,000 - $84,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
