Maintain a current reference library of jurisdictional requirements, including adopted NEC edition and local amendments, submittal checklists, and inspection procedures
Track state and local contractor licensing, registration, bonding, and insurance requirements, and handle applications, renewals, and reciprocity filings
Coordinate licensed master electrician or qualifier sign-offs and signatures required on applications
Monitor permit expiration dates, extensions, and inspection deadlines to prevent lapses

Work with project managers and estimators early to identify permit needs, lead times, and risks to the schedule

Help resolve failed inspections, correction notices, and stop-work issues with the AHJ
Support utility coordination, such as service requests, interconnection applications, and inspection releases, where applicable
Close out permits and collect final approvals, certificates of occupancy, and as-built documentation

Keep organized digital records of applications, approvals, correspondence, and inspection results
Build and maintain relationships with building department staff, plan reviewers, and inspectors
