Job Description

Job Details:

Provides personal hygiene services, housekeeping tasks, and other related support services essential to the consumer’s health.
Observes, records, and reports all changes to the supervisor.
Performs home management tasks including housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands.
Prepares and serves simple modified diets according to instructions and assists with feeding as necessary.
Assists with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Assists with toileting, including the use of a bedpan, commode, or toilet.
Assists self-directing consumers with transfers and ambulation, including the use of a cane, walker, and wheelchair.

Provides routine skin care. May assist self-directing consumers in applying non prescription topical medications to the skin surface:

Collects routine specimens.
Obtains the consumer’s weight.
Assist self-directing consumers in reminding them of their home maintenance exercise programs.
Assists the self-directing consumer with reminders on changing the tubing or refilling a tank in the use of their oxygen equipment.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a home health aide or in a similar role is preferred, but not necessary. Agency provides in-house training and orientation
Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with clients of all ages.
Ability to adapt to the changing needs of clients with special needs or medical conditions.
