Position Details
Location: York, PA
School District: Central York School District
Pay:$20.00 per hour
Position Type: Contract
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM
Contract Dates: August 16, 2026 through June 2, 2027
Hours: 35 hours per week
Multiple openings available
Responsibilities
Provide individualized or small-group support to students throughout the school day.
Assist students with academic, behavioral, and daily living needs as directed by school staff.
Implement behavior support plans and positive reinforcement strategies.
Support classroom instruction under the direction of teachers and special education staff.
Assist students with the appropriate use of classroom materials and equipment.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success.
Qualifications
Minimum of 48 college credits, an Associate's degree, or higher.
Must meet Pennsylvania competency requirements (Special Education Credential of Competency or CAPE assessment).
Current Pennsylvania Criminal History, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances.
Current First Aid/CPR certification (if required by assignment).
Willingness to complete 20 hours of annual professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting students with autism, behavioral needs, or other special education populations.
Experience working in school or classroom settings.
Strong communication, patience, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
