Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of plaintiff's personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial.
- Draft legal documents, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and demand packages.
- Order, review, and organize medical records and bills.
- Maintain and update case files in the firm's case management system.
- Communicate with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
- Schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and client appointments.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely completion of case-related tasks.
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination.
- Maintain accurate documentation and provide regular case updates to attorneys.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of plaintiff's personal injury paralegal experience.
- Strong knowledge of the personal injury litigation process.
- Experience drafting legal documents and managing case files.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and case management software.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience preparing settlement demands.
- Experience with medical record and billing review.
- Trial preparation experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Illinois court procedures and e-filing.
