Personal Injury Attorney (Pre-Litigation) - Plaintiff Side

WGK Personal Injury Lawyers has been trying plaintiff cases in Baltimore since 1977. We are hiring a pre-litigation attorney to own personal injury files from treatment through settlement. You carry your own docket and make the calls on liability, valuation, demand posture, and when a case leaves pre-suit.

Most of our volume is auto and auto-adjacent (pedestrian, bicycle, motorcycle, truck, scooter), with premises liability and dog bite matters throughout. Legal assistants handle records, bills, claim openings, and PIP submissions on your files. You direct that work. You do not do it.

If you have plaintiff PI experience but have not yet run Medicare and Medicaid liens start to finish, or have not supervised staff, we will train you.

Downtown Baltimore office on West Madison Street, with schedule flexibility once you are up and running.

We publish our commission structure. Most firms will not.

Base salary plus commission on the attorney fee we collect, paid monthly: 3% on cases settled pre-suit, 5% after suit is filed or at mediation, 8% on a verdict above the last written offer. Case costs and liens do not reduce it. Annual production bonus on top. 30% on cases you bring in yourself from outside our marketing channels.

$90,000 - $130,000 yearly base salary plus commission

• Own a pre-litigation docket from treatment through resolution, including liability analysis, damages theory, and valuation

• Flag Maryland contributory negligence exposure early, not at the demand stage

• Draft and finalize demand packages built on the actual medical record, then negotiate them directly with adjusters

• Direct and coach the legal assistants on your files, and audit each file before it advances

• Resolve Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA, and private liens, and explain net recovery to clients honestly

• Decide which files settle pre-suit and which transfer to litigation, and hand off complete files

• Active Maryland bar license in good standing (required)

• Plaintiff-side personal injury experience; pre-litigation handling strongly preferred

• Experience drafting demands and negotiating with adjusters

• Working knowledge of Maryland PIP, MedPay, UM and UIM, and policy limits demands

• Comfort using AI drafting and analysis tools

• Filevine experience, lien resolution background, D.C. bar admission, and Spanish fluency are pluses
