About The Job

The Personal Lines Insurance Account Technician provides administrative and technical support to the Personal Lines team by assisting with policy servicing, processing transactions, maintaining client records, and ensuring accurate and timely completion of insurance documentation. This role serves as a key support resource for Account Managers, Producers, and clients, helping to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining compliance with agency and carrier guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and renewals.
  • Prepare and issue evidence of insurance, ID cards, and other policy-related documents.
  • Review policy information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Enter and maintain client and policy data within the agency management system.
  • Assist with renewal preparation, including gathering underwriting information and preparing renewal proposals.
  • Monitor and follow up on pending transactions with carriers and clients.
  • Respond to routine client inquiries regarding billing
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain quotes, policy information, and underwriting requirements.
  • Maintain electronic files and documentation in accordance with agency procedures.
  • Support Account Managers and Producers with administrative tasks and special projects.
  • Ensure compliance with agency standards, carrier requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assist with claims documentation as needed.
  • Other support duties as requested.

About You

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of insurance, customer service, or administrative experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of personal lines insurance products, including auto, homeowners, umbrella, recreational vehicle, and other related coverages.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with agency management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and carrier portals.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Licensing and Certifications

  • Ability to obtain a Property & Casualty Insurance License within a specified timeframe.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position works in a normal office environment with controlled temperature and artificial lighting conditions. Long periods of sitting. Long periods of screen use. Ability to communicate in person and over devices. Ability to work in-person with team. Must be able to perform complex tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to non-routine situations. Must be able to manage high-emotion situations.
