Position: Personal Lines Sales Assistant Reports to: Vice President, Personal Lines Operations Manager Supervises: None Location: MountainOne Insurance - Silverlake Office The hourly pay range for this position is $20.51 to $25.00 dependent upon qualifications and experience. This position is responsible for providing a wide range of administrative support duties for the Personal Lines Sales Team. Below is a description of the ordinary duties of the position. This description is a guideline and may not be all-inclusive. There may be additional duties and responsibilities which may be required. Employee access to a customer's nonpublic personal information shall be limited to the extent necessary to accomplish the duties outlined below or as may be assigned. Primary Responsibilities: - Input data on new prospects to be quoted.
- Research information required to quote such as driving records, mileage, etc.
- Obtain property cards and photos from the appropriate internet sites.
- If necessary, go out and take photos of properties for our files.
- Enter line of business data into the appropriate rating programs.
- Attach quotes to the client's file.
- Quote new business policies, track all quotes in the pipeline, as well as due dates, etc.
- Provide the Sales Executive with all documentation required for client signature once product is sold.
- Create binders for insurers, banks, attorneys, etc. as needed.
- Once the Sales Executive obtains all signed documents and deposit payments, upload new business to carrier to have policies issued.
- Enter all necessary activities and suspense to follow up on issuance of new policies per agency workflows and procedures.
- Review Sales Executive suspense to keep current and assist Sales Executive with following up as needed.
- At the direction of the Sales Executive update files for prospects which decline to purchase from us - either close file or pend for following year.
- Take incoming calls and gather data from prospective clients.
- Continuing education to stay current of industry, agency, and computer updates.
- Maintains compliance of all related company policies, confidentiality, standardized procedures, and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities: - Learn about and utilize support programs such as Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel, etc. for sales support.
- As needed - provide proposals to the Sales Executive.
- Provide backup phone support for incoming calls to the main line and forward them to the necessary department/individual.
Qualifications: - High School Diploma.
- Obtain and/or maintain MA Property & Casualty Insurance Broker's License and any other license as required by residence state.
- Solid understanding of insurance work methods and procedures.
- High ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong interpersonal/sales skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively present information to clients, company representatives, and agency personnel, both verbal and written.
- 100% availability to travel within a 25-mile radius to various office locations.
- Ability to sit, drive and perform telephone functions and computer input.
