ABOUT THE POSITION
Anchor Home is seeking a Personal Support Staff to provide care and support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-based setting. This role is especially well-suited for a nursing student looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in direct care and community-based services.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Delegating Nurse in prioritizing and responding to client needs according to the Plan of Care.
- Follow the individualized Plan of Care as written by the Delegating Nurse.
- Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, meal support, and grooming.
- Provide mobility and transfer assistance as needed.
- Assist with daily routines, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Document care provided and client responses accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate and actively listen to client needs and concerns while promoting dignity and independence.
- Maintain client safety, comfort, and overall well-being.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum of 1+ year of documented experience in caregiving for vulnerable adult populations
- Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Current CMT certification preferred
