Personal Trainers / Group Fitness Instructors

Position Summary: Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors create energy and motivation to support a YWCA member's journey through wellness at the YWCA. They help create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all members to access wellness and achieve their goals. Candidates may apply to provide services as a Personal Trainer, a Group Fitness Instructor, or both. Personal Trainers and Group Instructors operate as independent contractors.

 

Mission Alignment: The YWCA of Asheville and WNC is on a mission to eliminate racism and empower women. Our goal is for the YWCA’s mission to be embedded in every aspect of programming, including our approach to the health and wellness programming in our classes. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for social and racial justice, along with an understanding of the role that a holistic approach to health and wellness is an integral aspect of freedom, dignity, and justice for all.

 

Contractors must log hours of service, report participant attendance, and regularly respond to emails from YWCA staff regarding schedule logistics.

 

Working Conditions: Offer instruction in fitness classes that require physical activity for more than an hour at a time. 

Pay Rate: $30-$40/hour contract rate based on experience, certifications, and role.

Role Type: 1099 Contract, Onsite
