Internship Position Title: Personalization Intern

 

The 2027 Ulta Beauty Internship is a structured 10-week program designed to develop future talent and provide interns with a unique and impactful development experience. This program is tailored for rising college Juniors and Seniors, offering Corporate, Field, and Distribution Center internship tracks. The internship will be hybrid for Corporate interns and in-person for Distribution Center and Field interns. Interns will gain hands-on experience in Ulta Beauty’s operations while contributing to business needs, engaging in meaningful projects, and broadening their professional development. The internship program provides real-world experience directly related to the academic discipline and career goals, offering a better understanding of career options.

TEAM OVERVIEW:

Be part of the team responsible for advancing Ulta Beauty's personalization strategy and creating more relevant, connected experiences for our members and guests. Working at the intersection of Marketing, Analytics, Customer Data, Content, and Technology, the Personalization team designs, executes, and optimizes customer journeys across channels to deliver personalized experiences at scale. This team leverages customer insights, marketing technology, and performance measurement to improve engagement, retention, and business results while shaping the future of customer-centric marketing.

 

INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

As an intern, you will contribute to achieving the following goals:

• Support the development and documentation of customer journeys across key stages of the customer lifecycle.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to help translate customer insights, business objectives, and customer signals into journey maps and personalization opportunities.
• Assist in building and maintaining a centralized repository of personalization use cases, results, and key learnings.
• Help capture and organize journey performance metrics, testing results, and optimization recommendations.
• Support efforts to connect customer data and signals with content metadata to inform future personalization capabilities and asset taxonomy development.
• Contribute to the evaluation and measurement of personalization initiatives focused on improving engagement, retention, purchase behavior, and member value.
• Conduct competitive and industry research related to personalization, customer experience, loyalty, artificial intelligence, and marketing technology.
• Assist with reporting, documentation, and presentation of findings to support business decision-making.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, Data Science, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong interest in personalization, customer experience, CRM, marketing analytics, customer data, or marketing technology.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and interpret data.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate complex information into clear documentation and recommendations.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with various levels of leadership.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and disciplines.
• Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and marketing concepts.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bolingbrook, IL hybrid schedule
• Must be a rising Junior or Senior enrolled in an accredited undergraduate university in the summer of 2027.

• Previous work experience and active involvement with on-campus organizations or activities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

 : The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $0.00 / Hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Eligible associates may also earn overtime pay as required by applicable law. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
