Zachary Piper Solutions is currently seeking a Personnel Security Assistant to support a client engagement based in St. Louis, MO (downtown office). This position is a full-time role that will be onsite 5 days per week (parking provided by the client). This position plays a critical role in supporting personnel security operations, ensuring compliance with federal security policies, adjudicative standards, and investigative processes. As a Personnel Security Assistant, you will contribute directly to safeguarding the integrity and efficiency of federal personnel programs through accurate processing, analysis, and support of personnel security actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review Public Trust (Low, Moderate, High Risk) and National Security investigation requests for completeness and accuracy; coordinate with HR, applicants, and CORs to resolve deficiencies.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders regarding personnel security processes, investigations, and policies.
  • Apply 5 CFR 731 and OPM suitability standards to evaluate investigative information and recommend adjudicative outcomes.
  • Support personnel security program operations including onboarding, reinvestigations, adjudication support, and separations processing.
  • Conduct daily reviews of Personnel Security databases to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Identify discrepancies, conflicts of interest, or issues impacting agency mission and escalate appropriately.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the Suitability Desk Guide, policies, procedures, and training materials.
  • Deliver or support training sessions on personnel security systems and processes (e.g., e-QIP, DISS, CVS).
  • Monitor shared communication channels (e.g., phone lines, inboxes) and route inquiries/actions to appropriate personnel.
  • Prepare written reports, documentation, and presentations; participate in internal and external meetings.
  • Research and interpret applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to personnel security.
  • Support special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Active High Risk Public Trust clearance (required)
  • Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree with at least 1+ year of experience supporting personnel security adjudication under 5 CFR 731
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Experience assisting in development of training materials and procedural documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Compensation:

  • Salary: $50,000 - $54,000 Depending on experience
  • Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401K, Holidays, Sick Leave if required by Law
