Personnel Security Specialist

Overview:

Nakupuna Companies is seeking a Personnel Security Specialist who will be responsible for assisting the Facility Security Officer with the daily administration of all Personnel Security actions for the Nakupuna Companies. As the Personnel Security Specialist, you will be an integral team member of the Nakupuna Companies Security Team which is responsible for supporting multiple companies under the umbrella of the Nakupuna Companies.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct maintenance of personnel security clearance access levels in appropriate system of record.
• Act as lead for all onboardings, separations and transfers for all companies.
• Conduct routine audits of personnel security files and systems.
• Initiate background investigations via the Defense Information Security System (DISS), National Background Investigation Services (NBIS) or other government system of record.
• Review SF-86 background investigation documents to validate completeness and accuracy.
• Submit Fieldprint fingerprint uploads into SWFT.
• Conduct foreign travel reporting and briefings.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with employees.
• Support security audits.
• Support potential client facing duties.
• Perform security clearance verifications when needed.
• Assist with submitting visit authorization requests (VARs) to include termination VARs when needed.
• Assist with monitoring and categorizing daily security email and helpdesk requests when needed.

Qualifications:

Skills/Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis in Word, Excel, Outlook, and on-line search engines required. Demonstrated knowledge and competence in 32 CFR part 117 NISPOM and SEAD 3 security requirements. Experience with the following DCSA systems to include but not limited to: DISS, NBIS, NISS, SWFT, NCAISS, eApp etc.

 

Education and Experience: This position requires a high school diploma. Must possess DCSA FSO Program Management Certificate for Possessing Facilities and have at least three years of experience leading or supporting FSO duties. Must be well versed in the 32 CFR part 117 NISPOM, SEAD 3 and familiar with DOD security regulatory manuals. Familiarity with utilizing ThreatSwitch or Sign In compliance software a plus. Client facing support a plus.

 

Clearance Requirements: This position requires an active Top Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.

 

Location: Hybrid/3+ days in the office, must be in the DC Metro area.

 

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

• Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
