This position is located in the Ajudications Division (ADJ), Office of Personnel Security and Suitability (PSS), Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Department of State in Arlington, VA.
In this position, you will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for directing the conduct and certifying the sufficiency of initial pre-employment investigations conducted forthe purpose of determining suitability and security clearance eligibility.

PSCs do not acquire a competitive or excepted service status from this position. Contract is 1 year; renewable up to 4 years. Requirements: Qualifications:Applicants applying for the GS-12 must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience analyzing background investigative information and applying adjudicative criteria in order to make recommendations concerning the issuance of security clearances or public trust certification.
Experience conducting personnel security/suitability assessments by evaluating background information from a variety of sources and reports.
Experience preparing and documenting case evaluation of investigations against national level criteria for investigative sufficiency and for suitability/security adjudication.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
