Personnel Security Specialist

This position located in Adverse Actions Division, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability, Office of the Senior Coordinator for Security Infrastructure, Bureau of Diplomatic Security. 

In this position, you will be serve as a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for routinely evaluating clearance access eligibility in light of reports of investigation and legal documents documenting information that is complex or controversial and may affect clearances.

Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement. 

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience assessing security clearance access eligibility based on background investigations and other legal documentation.
• Experience interpretating personnel suitability and security guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Experience preparing evaluations of investigations against national level criteria for investigative sufficiency and for suitability/security adjudication.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
