Personnel Services Specialist-Staffing - 60010010

Where you will work: Human Resources - Staffing team; work location is the Department of Children and Families Office, 2415 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Pay: $40,000.22 annually / $1,538.47 bi-weekly. Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

Your specific responsibilities include reviewing and processing requests for appointment actions, payroll actions, and miscellaneous actions; entering approved actions into the People First system; conducting research and analysis; preparing and disseminating correspondence; creating and updating spreadsheets, logs, processes, and documents; assisting with special projects; communicating the department's concerns and expected results to project teams; providing guidance and consultation to managers, supervisors, human resources liaisons, and applicants; interpreting policies, procedures, rules, and statutes; and applying those interpretations when performing the duties of the position on a daily basis.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include knowledge of computer software, the agency's and department's personnel rules, policies, and procedures, methods of research tools, personal computers, data collection and analysis, business professional written and verbal communication, research techniques, analysis, time management, learning strategies, problem-solving techniques, and independent decision-making.

Qualifications include one year of professional or non-professional Human Resources experience, preference will be given to candidates with one year of Recruitment and Staffing experience, one year of experience working for a State of Florida Human Resources Office, experience working in the People First system, knowledge of Department of Management Services Personnel rules, policies, and procedures as it pertains to recruitment and selection, and use of Human Resources Information Systems.

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (includes one hour lunch).

Selective Service: Male candidates born on or after October 1, 1962, will not be eligible for hire or promotion into an authorized position unless they are registered with the Selective Service System (SSS) before their 26th birthday or have a Letter of Registration Exemption from the SSS.

Background screening requirement: Any candidate being considered for employment must successfully complete a State and National criminal history check as a condition of employment before beginning employment, and also be screened in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, F.S., and, if applicable, Chapter 408, F.S.
