1 year as a Pest Control Technician A or equivalent
current Certified Applicator for the state of North Carolina or willingness to obtain certification within 90 days
thorough knowledge of Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)
knowledge of entomology
thorough knowledge of FDA Food Codes and the Code of Federal Regulations concerning food safety
thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to the control and handling of urban wildlife and urban pest birds. (US Fish and Wildlife Services)

be at least 20 years old and have a valid driver’s license and obtain authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)
required to complete a minimum of 4 hours of continuing education credits annually
be able to use a snorkel, boom or high lift (from 50 to 130 feet)
be able to obtain medical clearance to wear respiratory protection (an air purifying respirator) within 2 weeks of accepting the contingent job offer (requires maintaining facial hair in a manner ensuring the respirator fits properly)
willingness to travel overnight
willingness to work various work schedules, weekends, nights and holidays
willingness to stay until the job is complete
willingness to be on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week for emergency response
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s degree in Entomology or a science related field
structural Pest Control license for the state of North Carolina
5 years as a Certified Applicator
