Job Description

The Pest Management Coordinator is responsible for leading pest management operations within the park to protect natural resources, park infrastructure, visitors, and staff. This position serves as the technical expert for integrated pest management (IPM), coordinating pest prevention, monitoring, treatment, and education efforts while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and agency regulations. The Pest Management Lead works independently and collaboratively with park staff, contractors, and partner agencies but does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 to $25.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark?s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections and monitoring to identify pest issues affecting park facilities.
  • Develop and implement environmentally responsible pest prevention and control strategies that prioritize non-chemical methods whenever practical.
  • Maintain required certifications, licenses, treatment records, and regulatory documentation.
  • Monitor treatment effectiveness and recommend program improvements based on field observations and data.
  • Coordinate pest management activities with vendors, maintenance, food and beverage, and other park operations to minimize impact  on staff and visitors.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to staff regarding pest prevention and best management practices.
  • Maintain pest management equipment and inventory of supplies.
  • Assist with developing annual work plans, budgets, and purchasing recommendations related to pest management.
  • Respond to pest-related incidents and visitor concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Stay current on emerging pest threats, invasive species, and changes in regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, natural resources, pest management, or a related field preferred.

  • Three or more years of experience in integrated pest management, pesticide application, grounds maintenance, natural resource management, or a related field.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles, pest identification, and environmentally responsible treatment methods.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local pesticide regulations and safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments.

Prefered Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in parks, public lands, conservation areas, or other natural resource settings.
  • Experience managing invasive plant and insect species.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance requirements and protection of sensitive habitats, wildlife, and cultural resources.
