Position Overview
Pet Food / Protein Laborers are responsible for operating machinery, performing manual labor, and supporting production processes in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s standards. This role plays a key part in ensuring product quality, safety, and efficiency.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate machinery and perform manual labor tasks as assigned
- Process product according to established procedures and quality/quantity expectations
- Observe equipment operation and report malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist team members by sharing knowledge and skills gained from the position
- Follow all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective communication and teamwork
- Recognize and act on safety risks; consistently practice and enforce safe work habits
- Participate in process improvement and problem-solving using continuous improvement methods
- Follow all company animal welfare guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
