    Description

    Summary/Objective

    PFS Supervisor oversees assigned departments to ensure goals and responsibilities are accomplished in accordance with Watson Clinic, LLP standards, efficiently, and with patient service as priority.

    Essential Functions

    Participates in selection and hiring of new staff, training, program accesses, assigns tasks, and reviews workloads to ensure cost effective, accurate, and timely completion of department responsibilities. Prepares staff schedules, approves time off, maintains employee payroll records and internal department employee files. Assists with completing and presenting the employee annual reviews.

    Develops, modifies, and implements changes to procedures to improve efficiency and workflow. Works closely with department Team Lead to coordinate and prioritize staff to cover fluctuations in work and meet deadlines. Reports progress on projects and testing of new procedures to management. Reviews department and staff productivity to determine areas of accomplishment and improvement.

    Prepares agendas, correspondence, reports, and information related to the functions and responsibilities of the assigned departments. Meets weekly with Manager and Teams Leads to ensure departments are on track to meet goals and address any suggestions or concerns.

    Coordinates with Team Leads in creating and maintaining department training documentation and SOP procedures.

    Handles escalated calls, emails, tasks, and staffing concerns in a professional and timely manner.

    Department specifics:

    • Credit Department:

    o Approve refunds over $500.00 for Insurance carriers and Patients.

    o Assist with Compliance Audits and Charge Corrections.

    • Payment Posting Department:

    o Process and set up 835 Run Manager carriers and resolve issues.

    • Scanning Department:

    o Ensure all documents are scanned and audited for accuracy and inclusion in Appenhancer.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position manages all employees of the assigned departments and is responsible for the performance management and assisting with hiring of the employees within the departments.

    Work Environment & Physical Demands

    Must be able to remain in a stationary position, Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copier, and computer printer.

    Requirements

    Required Education and Experience

    High school graduate with a minimum of 2 years effective supervisory experience. Basic knowledge of Patient Financial Service department responsibilities including Medical Insurance, Verification, EOB information, patient payments, and Insurance receipts. Demonstrates tact handling situations with personnel and patients. Able to communicate ideas in a clear and concise manner. Possess good organizational skills. Ability to assess a situation and decide on the best course of action. Has excellent communication skills, oral and written.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Experience with Medical Insurance EOB review, Insurance Verification of Eligibility, Processing Patient and Insurance Payments, and Review patient accounts for accuracy.

    Experience maintaining polices, procedures and training documentation.
