Job Title: Healthcare Services Pharmacist
Job Description
The Healthcare Services Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services in a retail setting while ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and pharmacy best practices. This role serves as a trusted healthcare resource by delivering immunizations, medication counseling, medication therapy management (MTM), and other wellness services that improve patient health outcomes. The pharmacist combines strong clinical judgment with excellent communication and customer service skills to support a safe, positive, and patient-centered pharmacy experience.
Responsibilities
- Provide immunizations and other clinical pharmacy services in accordance with applicable regulations, company policies, and professional standards.
- Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) interventions, including comprehensive patient consultations and follow-up as needed.
- Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and patient safety, in alignment with Good Faith Dispensing practices.
- Oversee prescription dispensing processes to ensure safe, timely, and compliant delivery of medications.
- Counsel patients on medication use, adherence, potential side effects, interactions, and disease state management to promote optimal outcomes.
- Support wellness initiatives such as immunization programs, flu clinics, diabetes awareness efforts, and other preventative care services.
- Address and resolve patient questions, concerns, and issues while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and local healthcare providers to support coordinated care.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, controlled substance laws, and all applicable professional standards.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including patient records, clinical interventions, and immunization logs.
- Participate in ongoing training, certifications, and professional development to maintain current clinical knowledge and skills.
- Apply strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities to evaluate therapies, manage risks, and support safe patient care.
- Contribute to efficient pharmacy operations by working collaboratively with the pharmacy team in a fast-paced retail environment.
Essential Skills
- Active Licensed Pharmacist in Utah, with an active Pharmacist License in applicable state(s).
- BS in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Certified Immunizer with the ability to administer a variety of immunizations and clinical pharmacy services.
- Proficiency in prescription verification and dispensing oversight, including adherence to Good Faith Dispensing practices.
- Strong patient counseling and medication management skills, including education on adherence, side effects, and disease state management.
- Knowledge of controlled substance laws and applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations and patient care practices in a retail setting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a professional and compassionate approach to patient interactions.
- Patient-focused mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities to support safe and effective patient care.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Retail pharmacy experience, including direct patient interaction and workflow management.
- Experience providing medication therapy management (MTM) services.
- Experience administering a broad range of immunizations across various patient populations.
- Experience with pharmacy management systems and related technology used in retail pharmacy operations.
- Multi-state pharmacist licensure.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with patients and healthcare providers.

Work Environment
This role is based in a retail pharmacy environment that is fast-paced and patient-facing, requiring frequent direct interaction with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. The pharmacist works with pharmacy management systems and other standard pharmacy technologies to verify prescriptions, document clinical services, and manage workflow. The position involves standing for extended periods, handling prescriptions and immunization supplies, and following all applicable safety and regulatory protocols. Professional attire appropriate for a retail healthcare setting is expected, including adherence to any required dress code or identification standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
