Description

We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacist to join our inpatient pharmacy team. The Pharmacist will be responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical services, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, reviewing medication orders, managing pharmacy operations, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

Review and verify inpatient medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
Dispense medications and provide drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Manage procurement, storage, inventory, and distribution of medications
Maintain pharmacy inventory, Omnicell systems, crash carts, and emergency medication kits
Ensure compliance with all State and Federal pharmacy regulations
Monitor controlled substances, quality assurance, and hazardous waste disposal procedures
Verify patients' home medications upon admission
Maintain pharmacy records, purchasing, billing, and compliance documentation
Participate in pharmacy policy development and process improvements
Provide emergency retail pharmacy coverage on weekends during scheduled shifts
Serve as the on-call pharmacist after hours on assigned shifts
Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Active Pharmacist license
Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience within the last 3 years (Required)
Strong knowledge of inpatient medication management and pharmacy operations
Experience with medication order review, inventory management, and regulatory compliance
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Commitment to patient safety and high-quality pharmaceutical care
