Strong clinical knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and age-specific medication considerations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions.
Medication Preparation & Dispensing
Prepare, fill, label, and dispense drugs, parenteral medications, IV solutions, and drug containers accurately and safely.
Ensure all medications issued to patient care areas meet legal and quality standards.
The Pharmacist is responsible for filling medication orders, monitoring patient drug therapies, and providing drug information to healthcare providers. This position oversees the routine operations of the pharmacy department and manages all clinical aspects of patient drug therapy. In the absence of the Pharmacy Director, the Pharmacist may be required to assume leadership responsibilities and perform the essential duties of the Director.
Education:Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
BS in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
Licensure:
Current, active license to practice pharmacy in the State of New Mexico (verified by the New Mexico Board of Pharmacy).
Experience:
1–2 years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
New graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered.
