Job Description

Role Description

The Pharmacist II role encompasses pharmacists who are experts in the treatment by medication of a specialized population and serves as a consultant for other health care professionals.

Complexity

  • Applies knowledge of clinical practices and laws governing pharmacy.

  • Consultants require additional education and certification in order to provide expert knowledge in a specialized pharmaceutical field.

  • Advises physicians, customers, and other health-field professionals on the use, interaction and side effects of certain types of medication on a specialized population.

Results

  • Customers receive the correct medications and advice on the use of specific drugs.

  • Well-being of customer and management of specific disease processes.

Accountability

  • Exercises sound judgment in making clinical decisions independently.

  • Provides guidance and training for other staff.

  • Helps others to resolve technical problems.

  • Directly responsible for providing consultation, mentoring and pharmacy services to meet the needs of the customer.

  • Acts as an authority in a specialized field to resolve the most severe and significant problems associated with treatment of a specific population by the use of medications.

Pay Rate: $55/hr
