The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) oversees pharmacy operations, ensures compliance with SOPs, state and federal regulations, and supervises pharmacists and technicians. The PIC achieves production goals, assists with investigations and daily tasks, monitors training status, and serves as the main contact for regulatory agencies. Responsibilities include oversight of sterile and non-sterile compounding, adherence to USP standards (<797>, <795>, <800>), and maintaining professional and legal compliance.

EDUCATION: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of compounding pharmacy experience; sterile compounding strongly preferred.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES/REGISTRATIONS: Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the Florida (and additional states as required).

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents, ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts in pharmacy practice, including algebra, statistics, and pharmaceutical calculations. Proficiency in dilutions, concentrations, alligation, and dosage conversions. Able to interpret environmental monitoring data, validate calculations performed by staff, and ensure mathematical accuracy in all compounding and dispensing activities.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graph, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
