Overview of Position:
The pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) as defined by the SC Board of Pharmacy is responsible for the operations of the pharmacy in conformance with all laws pertinent to the practice of pharmacy and distribution of drugs and is in full charge of the pharmacy and personnel. The PIC will provide pharmacy consulting services with empathy to patients regarding the effective usage of medications and awareness with drug interactions.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm D required.
- Must maintain active Pharmacist license with the SC Board of Pharmacy
- Immunization Certification through APhA
- 3+ years of pharmacy management experience required.
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
- Experience with PioneerRx Software preferred.
- Experience with ECW preferred.

Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Follows HIPAA, FWA, Corporate Compliance, and all applicable state and federal laws.
- Leads pharmacy team by displaying empathy and compassion for patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Facilitates a team culture that promotes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride.
- Evaluates patient profiles and syncs refills so that all prescriptions can be filled for a patient and shipped at the same time.
- Identifies any drug in patient's profile that may have a manufacturer's copay card and assists in enrolling patient and adding to profile when appropriate.
- Contacts prescriber with any refill requests or issues that may present.
- Initiates prior authorizations in Cover My Meds and notifies clinical pharmacy team with the Key.
- Documents appropriate notes/outcome codes in patient records and other systems as necessary.
- Travels to other HopeHealth locations to coordinate care for patients as deemed necessary by Director or AVP.
- Collaborates with other clinic or pharmacy team members to work on special projects that may be identified.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the daily operation of the Retail Pharmacy and
- direct supervision to the:
o Other Pharmacist on duty
o Retail Pharmacy Technicians
o Customer Service Representative
o Pharmacy Delivery Specialist
o Others as assigned
Physical Requirements:
Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone. Vision: Visual acuity adequately to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens. Other: Requires occasional lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds unassisted in normal daily activities and up to 30 lbs. for other required work activities. Additionally, requires frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements(especially if keyboarding and writing), standing, walking, squatting, and sitting, with some lifting, pushing, and pulling exerted regularly throughout a regular work shift.
