Lead a Brand-New Pharmacy with a Growing Team

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead operations at a newly opened pharmacy in Galena, IL. This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy leader who is passionate about patient care, team development, and creating an outstanding pharmacy experience from the ground up. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

In this leadership role, you will oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, support and mentor pharmacy technicians, and provide exceptional care to every patient you serve.

What You'll Do

  • Review and accurately dispense prescriptions while ensuring compliance and patient safety
  • Lead, mentor, and support pharmacy technicians in daily operations
  • Manage pharmacy workflow, inventory, medication storage, and ordering processes
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and profiles
  • Provide patients with education, guidance, and excellent customer service
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, fraud waste & abuse standards, and all pharmacy regulations
  • Monitor medication inventory to prevent shortages, expiration, or waste
  • Coordinate technician schedules and assist with performance management
  • Help build a positive, patient-focused pharmacy culture

What We're Looking For

  • Current Pharmacist license (PharmD required)
  • 3–5+ years of retail pharmacy management experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience working with pharmacy patient management systems
  • Passion for patient care and team collaboration
