Employment Type: FT M-F 9am-5pm (flexibility to start early/stay later)
Position Summary
The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) provides operational and clinical leadership for a compounding pharmacy, overseeing compliance, quality, staff management, and performance. This role is responsible for maintaining safe, efficient pharmacy operations while promoting a strong culture of patient safety, accountability, and regulatory excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Pharmacy Operations & Leadership
- Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, including workflow, staffing, scheduling, productivity, and overall site performance
- Serve as the primary on-site pharmacy leader and resource for pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
- Ensure prescriptions, medication orders, compounding, dispensing, and verification processes are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently
- Monitor workflow and staffing levels and adjust as needed to maintain service levels and patient safety
- Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency and quality
- Collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy on operational improvements and strategic initiatives
Qualifications- Active Pharmacist license in good standing in the applicable state
- Ability to serve as the designated Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) in accordance with applicable state requirements
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience;3–5+ years preferred
- Previous pharmacy leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred
- Compounding pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong understanding of applicable pharmacy regulations, USP standards, and quality/compliance requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in leading and developing pharmacy teams preferred
Work Environment
- 503A compounding pharmacy environment
- Non-sterile and/or sterile compounding operations, as applicable to the site
- Hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced pharmacy environment
- Strong focus on patient safety, regulatory compliance, accuracy, quality, and teamwork

Success in this role means maintaining a safe, compliant, efficient, and well-run pharmacy while developing a strong pharmacy team. The PIC will take ownership of day-to-day operations, proactively identify issues, maintain regulatory readiness, and partner with the Director of Pharmacy to continuously improve the pharmacy's performance and quality of care.
