Job Summary
A growing healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee daily pharmacy operations at a retail pharmacy location in Nacogdoches, Texas. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring safe and accurate dispensing practices, maintaining regulatory compliance, supervising pharmacy staff, and supporting high-quality patient care.
Schedule
Monday–Friday, typically between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and clinical appropriateness
• Dispense medications and provide counseling and education to patients as needed
• Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation
• Oversee pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, labeling, and expiration monitoring
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations
• Maintain current knowledge of HIPAA, Fraud Waste & Abuse, and other healthcare compliance requirements
• Supervise and support Pharmacy Technicians in daily workflow activities
• Assist with technician scheduling, performance feedback, and operational oversight
• Promote efficient pharmacy operations and a high standard of customer service
• Collaborate with leadership regarding staffing, workflow, and operational needs
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree
• Active Pharmacist license in the state of Texas
• Minimum of 3–5 years of retail pharmacy management experience
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience working with pharmacy patient management systems
• Ability to maintain regulatory and compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience leading pharmacy operations in a retail healthcare setting
• Experience mentoring or supervising pharmacy technicians
• Strong organizational and inventory management skills
