Pharmacist – Inpatient

Location: Cincinnati, OH 45219
Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
Schedule: Evening Shift | 4x10s or 5x8s
Training: Day shift during training
Hours: 40 hours/week

Weekly Pay:$3,400 [Travel Candidates]

Position Overview

The Inpatient Pharmacist will work under the general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy to compound and dispense medications based on orders from licensed practitioners and support the daily operations of pharmacy services.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, and prioritize medication orders using Epic.
• Ensure appropriate medication dose, frequency, and administration times.
• Review drug allergies, drug-drug interactions, drug-disease interactions, and incompatibilities.
• Accurately dispense and label medications while following scanning procedures.
• Follow current USP <797> and <800> guidelines.
• Oversee and check sterile compounding and IV medications.
• Monitor and maintain pharmacy medication inventory and supplies.
• Maintain required pharmacy records in accordance with state, federal, and departmental regulations.
• Support medication management involving Pyxis, IV room, ECMO, CRRT, and antibiotic dosing.
• Respond to medication-related questions from patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in quality improvement and problem-solving activities.
• Follow all hospital and pharmacy safety policies and procedures.
• Supervise and coordinate support personnel as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• Active Ohio Pharmacist License in hand required.
• 3+ years of hospital pharmacist experience, preferably in a large medical center.
• Strong Epic experience required.
• Experience with sterile compounding and inpatient pharmacy operations.
• Strong order verification and medication safety experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
